General Release 1.06b now available.

General Release 1.06b is now available here in our Downloads/5E files/Current release section.

This release has our usual bugfixes and corrections and is meant to correct problems that seemed to develop between the last general release and older verisons of the AB3 program (specifically 3.1).

Also please note that with the recent redesign, the Black Templars are currently a shambles. Work is proceeding as quickly as possible to restore usability as well as a new way to construct an army roster. If you absoultely need to create a Black Templars roster, I urge users to download an older release 1.05 into an alternate AB40K folder (such as AB40K_OLD) and create a BT roster using that file. I apologize for the inconvience.

More Info on Bug Reports Please...

OK, we have recently received a few reports where there a bug issues, but apparently only show themselves when the use is using Army Builder 3.1. There are also occasions where the most recent version of Army Builder (3.2b, prior to Feb 25th) shows bugs which do not occur on 3.1. When you do file your bug report, please note the verison of Army Builder you are using - if you need help, the program itself will tell you which version it is under the Help menu item > About Army Builder.

General release 1.06a now Available.

General release 1.06a now Available. Includes the 5E Tyranid file, our usual bug fixing and patching and something new - testing trial of Black Templars V2.

We would strongly urge anyone who is intending to use this file to put this release in an entirely new folder or to delete their older AB40K folder before applying this update. Many files have been removed and or modified and to prevent unnecessary problems with updating this is highly recommended.

Apocalypse formations based on the new Tyranid files have been adjusted. Note that there are a few formations which have options which are no longer available or do not fit in properly without interpretation. As it our "mission" to provide the data provided by GW without such interpretation, the offending data sheets were removed and will be restored whenever GW provides such guidelines to bring these older formations under the 5E Tyranid rules.

Witch Hunters and Daemonhunters ally rules have been substantially redone. Now they use the nominal system provided within AB for their selection instead of their own specialized procedure. Note that the nominal rules provided in each of those codices stll applies, only the way of selecting them within AB has changed.

Black Templars are a small test bed of some of the possible changes in the future. Players will note that in the Space Marine roster selection screen, you will see Black Templars and Black Templars V2. The V2 files have had several squads redesigned to allow models which change the basic profile to be selected as separate models. This allows the profile for a model to be clearly defined such as in the case of a power fist (with doubled St, lowered In, and of course no bonus attacks unless you happen to be armed with two power fists) or even just a Bolt Pistol and CCW (with a different attack profile from a model with just a bolter). This is mainly to test the feasibility and player like/hatred to such a design. Note that what you gain in clarity, you make the sacrifice in roster pages.

Also tying in to the above slightly, on your hard copy it is recommended that you adjust the amount of space for the name to 36 characters.

Please report any bugs that you come across in the bug tracker, they will be essential for further updates.

The AB40K Maintainers.

General Release 1.05b Now Available for Download!

General Release 1.05b is now available in the 5E downloads/Current Release section. This general release hopes to correct errors and make format changes.
Notable changes from the first release is now most characters/models which had a option of different armour now have that armour choice to be made first, then the model type will be shown after that slection in a similar fashion to the Space Marine Captain, etc. This was to correct a problem where a choice of weapon was made and then armour changed causing a red out and validation warning.
A similar change has been made to the Wolf Guard unit. Note that at the moment, the ability to have multiple units on one line and a single model per line is still there. NOte that the same warning exists as before, if a multiple line unit is taken (i.e., more than one WG model on a single line) - any weapon modifications that are made reflect against that entire line. SO if you have 3 models on one line and you take a Power Fist and Wolf Claw, each of those three models have the PF and Wolf Claw.
Note that there may still be some niggling errors - currently there is a problem in correctly validating WG Terminators and their "special" choice of weaponry. That is the reason that this general release is a website only release for the moment. Once these remaining errors get hammered out, the next general release will be updated here as well as being available through the Auto-Update feature within AB3. This next release will be 1.05c and will be released as soon as any remaining errors are corrected and any new ones that crop up have been taken care of.
 Thank you for you patience.

The AB40K Maintainers...

Gnereal Release 1.04a released

Actually snuck this one in here on Sep. 30th. It includes the usual bugfixes and correction based on feedback from the bug tracker. Also includes the addition of IA7 units and Army Lists (Servants of Decay & Krieg Armoured Battlegroup).

The Codex / Non-Codex Source choice has been removed entirely. Any non-codex lists and units are now selectable when Non-Codex Materials roster option is selected. Note that all units which would fall under this category have not been completely defined as of yet and thus may show up without the selection.

The inclusion of IA7 allowed the chance to reformat and restructure the Chaos Space Marines. This will also lead to a larger reformat and restructure of the entire IA file, especially given the inclsuion of the corrections noted by the release of the FW Update FAQs for IA1 and 2.

In addition, the Apocalypse allies system has undergone a complete overhaul and should now be totally accurate to the allies Matric in Apocalypse. Note that the two races who normally have allies (WH and DH) continue to do so by their own special rules and not through this system. This will be changed in the near future however.

Lastly, there will be another general release, 1.04b - based on any last minute changes or corrections that are needed. This release should be available somtime in the following week and will be available for download via this website or by the Update Feature within AB3.

General Release 1.03b available via LW update

You may download this file either here, or via the update feature of AB. A careful note: due to a small programming error discovered by the Lead Maintainer (mine, not LW fault) this update may not necessarily show up as new. If you do go to click the View Updates, you will notice that 1.03b is there and you may download it and import it.
