Chaos Chosen Question

I'm new to army builder and 40k. I'm trying to understand the whole attacks (or other stats) x/y thing, specifically with Chaos Chosen: they have 2 attacks according to the codex, but if they have a CCW and a bolt pistol (or two Lightning Claws), shouldn't that give them +1 attacks? Shouldn't their attack profile then be 2/3? I thought what followed the slash was the wargear addition. I have some Khorne Berzerkers who have 1/2 which I think comes from having bolt pistols and CCWs.

I'm looking at base Chosen and their attacks, with no change in Wargear, are 2/3. I think that is correct. Can you post an example of what you mean?

OK, I see what's going on here. In a effort to keep the squad simple - the CCW equivalent routine can go a little haywire. The ideal situation (which most people hate) is to have the selection of the power fist and the selection of the lightning claw models added to the squad as separate models. This is because those weapons are specialist weapons and thus you have only your base attacks with those models.

What is causing more havok is the behind the scenes routines which determine CCW bonuses - which notable increases the CCW attack on a even selection and removes it on an odd selection (as those routines are looking for "pairs" to give the bonus).

Since the Chaos Space Marine file is now established I think I will have the time to go backwards and reegnineer the unit to behave properly...

OK, never mind, looks like I had an error in my number of models (4 instead of 5)... Dang, I spent a lot of time trying to figure that out. Oh well, more familiar with the rules now.

Now I know why I kept it that way after looking at the programming. The even / odd strangeness will be fixed in the next general release.
