Feral chaos army

#1  Postby harkan » Fri Mar 30, 2007 11:07 pm

Just started all the conversion work on new chaos army - a feral one that uses the bits from chaos warriors sprues and CSM sprues plus various assorted stuff.

As stuff gets put together will start posting some pics on here as it goes along

oh ha ha ha de ha lol

am aiming to make them look very 'old' as in the knights and warriors from WFB type look. The dread is gonna be a shaggoth heavily converted, the defiler is gonna be a hellcannon gun mounted on a beastman chariot pulled by a carnosaur, rhinos are gonna be carnosaurs with howdahs on them

Dude that is awesome. Are you mixing Chaos Marine and Fantasy Chaos Warriors for that? How much work is it?

yeah mix of 40k and WFB

Depending on the position it can be a lot of work, the running guys take a couple of hours to get done as i end up slicing off the top of the running legs, slicing the arms off the WFB cloak, cutting the legs of the front of the WFB front piece and hollowing it out, then hacing 40k arms apart to get the position etc etc ... have finally got eh parts through for the shaggoth dreadbought so am gonna start building that tomorrow as well heehee

was thinking of a mettalic colour for them but dirtied and rusty, not sure what colour to go for on the trim though

I agree it looks great. Wish I had the extra Cash to commit to those kind of conversions. I seriously thought about doing an IG based army using Skaven as the main force of figures. Problem was all metal and a butt load of cash for the duplicate figures. Oh well. Maybe if I win the Lottery (The one I don't play).

liking all this alot!!
jlong05 i think that if you do some math on it, mixing CSMparts with Chaos warriorstuff is gonna turn out to be a cheaper army than regular CSM, IF you use all bodies
